Say Goodbye to Shower Grout Grime: How to Banish Mould for Good!

Are you tired of battling stubborn mould in your shower grout? It’s a common problem that can make your bathroom look unsightly and unclean. Luckily, with a few simple steps, you can banish that mould for good and keep your shower sparkling clean. Here’s how!

1. Gather Your Supplies

To tackle mould effectively, you’ll need:

  • A stiff-bristled brush or an old toothbrush

  • Baking soda

  • White vinegar

  • Hydrogen peroxide

  • A spray bottle

  • Protective gloves

2. Create Your Cleaning Solution

Mix equal parts of baking soda and water to form a paste. For extra cleaning power, you can also mix one part hydrogen peroxide with two parts baking soda.

3. Apply the Paste

Put on your protective gloves and apply the baking soda paste to the mouldy grout lines. Make sure to cover all the affected areas thoroughly.

4. Scrub Away the Mould

Using the stiff-bristled brush or old toothbrush, scrub the grout vigorously. The baking soda paste will help lift the mould from the grout lines, making it easier to remove.

5. Spray with Vinegar

Fill the spray bottle with white vinegar and spray it over the baking soda paste. The vinegar will react with the baking soda, creating a fizzing action that helps break down the mould.

6. Let It Sit

Allow the mixture to sit for about 10-15 minutes. This gives the vinegar and baking soda time to penetrate and break down the mould.

7. Rinse and Repeat

Rinse the area with warm water to wash away the paste and loosened mould. If necessary, repeat the process until all the mould is gone.

8. Prevent Future Mould Growth

To keep mould at bay, make sure your bathroom is well-ventilated. After each shower, use a squeegee to remove excess water from the tiles and grout. You can also spray a mixture of water and vinegar on the grout lines weekly to prevent mould from coming back.

With these steps, you can say goodbye to mouldy grout and hello to a sparkling clean shower! Happy cleaning!
